FAQs

How is this different from learning on YouTube?

Our virtual classes offer a more structured, personalized, and interactive learning experience compared to YouTube. They typically follow a curriculum and are led by an instructor, providing a systematic approach. You'll also have the opportunity to get personalized feedback and engage with the material through interactive learning opportunities. In-person elements, like field trips and photo shoots, provide hands-on experience. Overall, virtual classes offer a more comprehensive learning experience.

Are the classes only for beginner photographers?

Our Street Shots Online classes are geared towards beginners or amateur photographers looking to take their skills to the next level. If you have some experience in photography, the Projects and Critique class may be helpful as it focuses on shooting, presenting, and getting feedback on images. Advanced photographers can also book private sessions.

What’s included with the class?

As a participant in the class, you'll receive a PDF copy of the slide show and access to a video recording of the class. You'll also get exclusive free membership to a private online photo community and gallery space where you can share your class images and get feedback from the instructor.

How do I attend a class?

Our classes are held over Zoom. Prior to the start of the class, you'll receive an email with a Zoom link and any other necessary instructions. To view the class, you'll need to have the Zoom App installed on your device.

I don’t own a DSLR. Can I still take classes using my smartphone or point & shoot as my camera?

Even if you don't have a camera with interchangeable lenses, you can still learn a lot about photography through our Digital Photography classes. These classes are suitable for any camera, including point-and-shoot and mirrorless cameras. If only have a smartphone for your photography, though, we recommend starting with the Fundamentals of Smartphone Photography class. The Post Processing and Project & Critique classes are suitable for any type of camera, including smart phones.
